Harmony Intensifies was mostly written in 2019, in a 34th floor flat in the east of Chengdu, China.
This separation from the street level, and the constant smell of bad plumbing from the en suite is a leading trope throughout the work.
In a subversion of Walter Benjamin’s conception of the flaneur, Harmony Intensifies positions itself as outwith the pedestrian, taking a broad scope view of the lived sonic experience.
Harmony Intensifies is not an observational piece, rather, it is a reactionary statement.
A polemic on post-post-neo-modernity and the human triumph over adversity - but I’m sure you guessed that anyway.
All tracks were made on a pair of £12 crap bluetooth Sony earphones with a 0.10 - 0.15 ms delay.
